APPLICATION GUIDELINES
Our embroidered and printed fabrics range in durability and should be carefully selected for the proper applications.
Many of our fabrics have been professionally tested using the standard Weizenbeek (WZB) double-rub abrasion testing system and are labeled to show the different durability levels.
We have classified our fabrics into 5 levels:
- Delicate (having longer stitches). Not professionally tested.
- Light durability: under 3,000 WZB double-rubs
- Medium Durability: 3,000 – 20,000 double-rubs
- Heavy Durability 20,000 – 60,000 double-rubs
- Contract: Over 60,000 double-rubs
We do not recommend using Delicate or Light Durability fabrics for seat cushions.
Delicate and Light durability fabrics are ideal for lighting, window treatments and other decorative accents in low-traffic areas.
Many of our embroideries were designed in the longer and more artful but less durable “Satin” stitch style. (photo)
We have developed more durable versions of these patterns in the “Tatami” stitch style for greater durability. (photo)
Please note that, per the Terms of Service, Jennifer Robbins Textiles does not accept responsibility for the durability of its fabrics, other than to meet the professional testing standards as marked on samples and this website. Because the end use of the fabric, including cleaning methods, cannot be controlled by
Jennifer Robbins Textiles, we are not able to guarantee the fabrics’ performance with regards to durability, lightfastness or other properties.
Our goal is total customer satisfaction, for both design professionals and their clients. We would love to work together to specify and/or design beautiful, unique fabrics that will look great and work well in their new home.
Please contact us for any questions regarding durability or other application information.
